The CRIMT Partnership Project on Institutional Experimentation for Better Work, which brings together the Interuniversity Research Centre on Globalization and Work (CRIMT) and an international network of partner centres and associated researchers, organized a major international conference entitled: Work on the Brink: Better Work for a Just and Sustainable Future. This conference examined the disruptions and crises affecting the world of work, address their consequences, and critically assessed the strategies, policies and actions implemented by world-of-work actors to support, mitigate, or counter these effects.

Isabelle Ferreras was invited to participate in the opening ceremony and plenary session titled « Work on the Brink: Utopias, Dystopias ». As part of a distinguished panel of scholars, she contributed her insights on the future of work alongside experts from leading institutions such as the University of Montréal, McMaster University, and Griffith Business School. The session, chaired by Gregor Murray from the University of Montréal, explored the complex realities and possible futures of labor in contemporary society.

This conference took place at HEC Montréal (Montréal, Canada) from Thursday October 24th to Saturday October 26th, 2024. It aimed to engage researchers from the academic community and professionals from the world of work, included a hybrid component to facilitate remote participation.
